As part of our commitment to being a carbon-negative church, we are members of CarbonFund.org.
This partnership carbon offsets the estimated total usage (24 tonnes) of all of our activities and facilities each year.
These funds go to deforestation prevention and reforestation projects in Brazil.
Additionally, we carbon offset everyone’s travel to and from Mission Hills every year. As of 2022, we estimate this to be less than 30,000 miles annually so we offset an additional 9.1 tonnes of CO2 (30,000 miles) with the Public Benefit Corporation, Native. These funds go to Green Bricks for Residential and Commercial Buildings Project in Madhya Pradesh, India.
We are also members of 1% for the Planet, which supports environmental solutions through annual memberships and everyday actions from businesses, non-profits, and individuals who commit at least 1% of their earnings to verifiable environmental causes. We encourage everyone in our community to give 1% as well!
