Mission Hills Christian Church Is Going Solar

Friends of Mission Hills Christian Church!

We are so unbelievably humbled and grateful for the service and support that you give to the Mission Hills community. As many of you know, one of our focuses for the past two years has been environmental consciousness and making practical changes to our operations with the goal to become carbon neutral by the end of 2020. In 2017, we were certified as a “Green Chalice” community in the Disciples of Christ for our changes in recycling, eco-lighting, hosting climate conversations, and planting an organic community garden that has hosted six workshops! Many of you have been instrumental in implementing this vision and making these events happen! Thank you! We knew that one of the important steps that we wanted to take this year was to become energy independent by installing solar as our renewable energy source. We are so excited to announce that Mission Hills Christian Church now has the ability to move forward with a solar project with the approval from Green Chalice and Church Extension Fund who will approve us for a loan. Not only will this project allow us to continue to realize our values in caring for God's creation, but it will also significantly reduce our monthly operating costs. We invite you to partner with us financially to help us cover the initial costs of the solar project. Every donation counts and it will take all of us participating in the future of Mission Hills in order to make this dream a reality! We cannot thank you enough for all the ways you serve our community.

Love and Light,

Ryan Pryor, Pastor and Mission Hills Christian Church Leadership Team
